Devashri and her friend were very confused during a notoriously difficult computer science class at UIUC, so she asked the person sitting next to her for help. He tried to help but only left her more confused.

Ellis happened to be the one they asked and apparently he told her the wrong answer. They assumed they wouldn't see each other again and Devashri completely forgot about him.

A few weeks later Devashri and her roommates hosted a game night in their apartment and Ellis arrived as a friend of a friend of a friend. We hit it off while playing One Night Werewolf and continued getting to know each other through study sessions and snack breaks.

In 2018 Ellis moved to Menlo Park CA for grad school. He loved the palm trees and great mid-Bay California sun.

A year later, Devashri moved to San Francisco CA for work. It was much foggier and windier in the city but had access to great parks!

We've come to appreciate both climates as we spend time exploring amazing places and eating delicious food!

In 2023 we knew we wanted to propose to each other so we kicked off the search for engagement rings. Somehow it took only 2 weeks to find what we wanted!

In May 2023 we went to Scotland with the intention of getting engaged somewhere along the way. Ellis found the perfect opportunity on a beautiful secluded trail in Tobermory on Isle of Mull. We came across a small waterfall and Ellis started getting down on one knee before Devashri panicked and stopped him so they could propose at the same time. After digging around in her backpack (Ellis was more prepared with the ring already in his pocket) they both knelt down together. Then Ellis said this was silly and we have to take turns and that he would go first. So we got engaged!

Now we can't wait to get married with all of you surrounding us!
